Pharmacy staff tells thief to take a walk, and he does
POLICE are still searching for the man who tried to hold up the CQ Day and Night Chemmart Pharmacy at Alma St on Saturday night.
The would-be thief came into the chemist on Saturday at 8.10pm and asked the pharmacy assistant to hand over the money from the cash register, the manager said.
"He didn't harm anyone, thankfully, and just asked the staff member to hand over the cash," the manager said.
"But the staff member said some words to him and basically told him to go - to leave the store.
"And he did, he just turned and walked out of the store."
The manager said the man was wearing something over his head at the time of the attempted hold-up.
Officers from the Rockhampton CIB said the man had a garbage bag over his head to hide his identity.
Police are also appealing to anyone who may have seen the man leave the store about 8.15pm on Saturday (February 2) to call Crime Stoppers on 1800333000.
