GOLF: Central Queensland has finished fifth in Golf Queensland's Inter-Association Teams Event.

The local team of captain Daryl Myles (Wowan), Damien Ling and Dean Bunt (Rockhampton) and Adam Mollis (Biloela) was one of 12 to hit the fairways of the Rockhampton Golf Club for the two-day tournament.

The Moreton District won with a gross score of 368, one shot ahead of the Gold Coast District, which went on to claim nett honours with 375.

Each district is represented by four players. The total team score is determined by adding the best team score in the foursomes event, the best team score in the four-ball stroke event and the best three of the four players' scores in the individual stroke event.

Scott Warren and Peter Lyon shared the best singles round with a one-over par 73 on Tuesday, while Mick Gidley shot a hole in one on the second hole.
