Pictures that sell a great story

AS 80 families flick through their one-of-a-kind photo book, not only will they see their children but they'll also know they've been a part of a good cause.

Lesley Bom, owner of Rockhampton's Aislinn Photo Art in Denham St, has been taking photos of the Capricorn region's children and babies for 12 years.

But for the first time, Lesley has put together a book filled with beautiful images of local children, with funds going to The Starlight Foundation.

Lesley said it was something she wanted to do to give back to the community.

"This was so exciting for me, I don't know how to put it into words," she said yesterday.

The limited edition coffee table book, Kids of Capricornia, was launched last year and feature about 170 children, with the participation fee of $75 going to the charity.

The book raised $7000.

The Kids of Capricornia 2011 book launch will be held tomorrow night, at the studio in Denham St, with the parents being presented with their pre-ordered copies of the book.

If you'd like your children to take part in this year's edition, call Aislinn Photo Art on 07 4927 5000.
