Pig smuggled into Gabba with snout taped shut: RSPCA

RSPCA officers hold grave concerns for the young pig that was smuggled into the Gabba cricket ground with its snout taped shut on Thursday.

RSCPA spokesman Michael Beatty said the dwarf pig was extremely stressed and refusing to eat on Friday morning.

When Gabba security was alerted to the pig during the first day of Ashes play on Thursday afternoon, the animal and the spectator allegedly responsible for smuggling it into the stadium were turned over to police.

Police said they found the pig extremely dehydrated and stressed, before handing it over to the RSPCA.

Fairfax reports the animal had been smuggled into the venue in a baby harness worn like a backpack, police said.
