Planned burn today on Mt Archer

A PLANNED burn is being conducted by the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service within the Mt Archer National Park area today at 11.00am, as part of the annual hazard reduction/conservation management program for parks and forests.

As a result, smoke may be seen in the Rockhampton and Yeppoon area.

This will help reduce the intensity of any subsequent wildfires and provide favourable conditions for natural forest regeneration.

For more information call the Rockhampton office of QPWS on 4936 0595.
