POLICE are on the hunt for a group of about five men who violently attacked a man in East St on Sunday.

The man was walking down East St about 3am on Sunday when he was approached by the group of young people.

An argument broke out before one of the people in the group pushed the man through a glass window, causing several cuts to his hands and arms.

The man was taken to the Rockhampton Hospital for treatment.

Police yesterday released CCTV footage showing a group of people running from the area.

They urged members of the public who were in the area on Saturday night and may have seen anything to come forward.

With cameras now capturing everything that goes on in the CBD, police are hopeful that the public will be able to help identify people who were caught on camera.

Anybody with information can contact the Rockhampton CIB or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
