Police claim Baker punched them

A MAN accused of assaulting police was yesterday granted bail in the Rockhampton Supreme Court.

Jason Christopher Baker allegedly punched officers to the head a number of timesduring his arrest for drunken behaviour and threatened to spit at them.

Baker, 20, is charged with two counts each of assault occasioning bodily harm and serious assault and one count each of public nuisance and consuming liquor on a road.
