Police divers scour West Creek week after sudden death

BREAKING: Police divers have returned to a city park a week after the body of Laureen Qualischefski was found in West Ck at Kearneys Spring.

The specialist dive squad from Brisbane is scouring West Creek for a personal item belonging to Mrs Qualischefski, 69.

Darling Downs Detective Inspector Dave Isherwood said it was part of an ongoing investigation into the Wilsonton woman's death after her body was found about 9.30am last Monday.

"The divers are trying to retrieve a personal item belonging to the deceased person," Det. Insp. Isherwood said.

However, he would not confirm what item was being searched for.

Detectives last week said Mrs Qualischefski's death was not being treated as suspicious, but are preparing a report for the coroner.
