Two arrested after police find drug crop worth $100k

UPDATE: Two people have been arrested after police raided a cannabis crop early Tuesday morning.

The discovery, at a property on Tannum Sands Rd, led to the arrest of a 56-year-old woman and a 60-year-old man.

Police estimated the haul had a street value of $100,000.

The 31 cannabis plants, additional dried plant material and an unlicensed air rifle were discovered by police.

The couple will appear in court on drug and firearm charges later this month.

Tuesday 11.40am: Police have uncovered a mature cannabis plantation during an early morning drug raid at a property on Tannum Sands Road on Tuesday morning.

Two people have been charged with a number of drug offences.

The crop is estimated to have a street value of $100,000, and follows another successful cannabis bust at Baffle Creek on Thursday, with a crop worth $200,000 seized.

The Baffle Creek crop had almost 600 plants, which were destroyed after police had processed the scene.

Gladstone Detective Snr Sgt Luke Peachey said it was unlikely to two drug crops were related.
