Police hunt for armed robber of Koongal business last night

Update: 11.00am  NO arrest has been made over last night's armed hold up at the Choice service station on Thozet Rd.

Det Snr Sgt Scott Moon from Rockhampton CIB said a team of detectives were following strong leads today. 


POLICE were on the hunt for an armed robber last night after reports a business in Koongal had been held up.

The alleged offence occurred around 9:20pm last night, where a male offender entered the business armed with a pump action shotgun.

Dressed in all black clothes and wearing a balaclava, the man demanded money from staff at the business, leaving shortly after with a plastic bag full of $20 and $50 notes.

It is believed the Caucasian male, described to be around 172 cm tall, fled in a cream coloured van.

Police were still searching for the alleged offender at the time of print.
