Police hunting for holdup culprits

POLICE are still hunting the robbers of Rockhampton's Great Western Hotel and Yaamba Rd Caltex service station.

On Sunday night both venues were targeted.

At the Great Western, offenders broke into the hotel through a sealed window.

A sum of money was taken.

Staff at the Caltex store were held up by a man carrying a knife, who ripped out the cash till before dumping it after being chased by three witnesses.

Police were given CCTV footage of both robberies.

Regional crime co-ordinator Cal Lynch yesterday said there was no more information for either crime.

"Police are continuing enquiries in relation to both incidents," he said.

It is believed they are not related.

Police urged anyone with information that could assist them with their investigations to phone Rockhampton police on 4932 3599 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via http://www.crimestoppers.com.au.
