Woman dies after being stabbed in the chest at home

A WOMAN has been stabbed to death in a home in Sydney's west.

The victim, believed to be aged in her 50s, was found inside a South Granville home early today. Another woman has been taken into custody.

A NSW Police spokesman said the incident was believed to be domestic related. An emergency call was made about 6.15am but the woman could not be saved.

It's thought the woman suffered a stab wound to her chest.

Forensic officers have been taking items out of the home in Pegler Ave in evidence bags. The street has been shut down as police speak with neighbours.

Shocked neighbours have gathered in the street.
