Police issue weekend warning

POLICE have warned people to drive safely on the roads this long weekend, after they caught 327 speedsters on Good Friday alone last week - a one-day record number.

“Police don’t want a repeat of the poor behaviour shown by some motorists over the Easter Break,” State Traffic Support Branch Acting Chief Superintendent Bob Gee said.

“Five people were killed over the Easter Break. Five families are living with a tragedy.

“Take the time to obey the road rules and you might save a life. And it could be yours.”
