Police to reopen Dawson Hwy after road crash near Rolleston

POLICE are about to reopen the Dawson Hwy at the Adabaran Creek crossing, about 30km north of Rolleston, after a crash early this morning.

The highway was closed at 11.30am to allow heavy machinery to access the creek after a truck left the road and went into the creek about 2am today.

The truck driver, 52-year-old Emerald man was airlifted to Rockhampton Hospital for medical treatment.

It is expected the highway should be open around 1pm.

Motorists who are planning a trip on the Dawson Hwy in this area should proceed with caution.
