Police end Collingwood Park siege as fire crews enter home
UPDATE, 2:30PM: Police have revoked an emergent situation under the Public Safety Preservation Act following an incident at Collingwood Park where a man was taken into custody following a three-hour siege.
A man is assisting police with their inquiries.
Nobody sustained any physical injuries.
1PM: Police have taken a man into custody after a three-hour siege at Collingwood Park today.
Fire crews are also on site and have entered the house after smoke was seen coming from the building.
12.30PM: Police at the scene of the siege at Collingwood Park have called in the fire brigade after smoke was seen coming from the house.
11AM: A man armed with a machete is holed up in his Collingwood Park home as police negotiators try and coax him to come out.
The siege has been unfolding since 9.45am after the man refused to co-operate with a bailiff who had arrived to serve notice that the man's house was to be repossessed.
The bailiff called police who for almost two hours have tried to negotiate with the man in his McCormack Crt home.
The man threatened police with the machete and at 11.30am the police Special Emergency Response Team (SERT) was called in.
McCormack Crt and the intersection with Forgan Smith St are currently closed, bordered by TJ Ryan Ave and Theodore Crt.
Residents in the nearby vicinity are being asked to stay indoors while police respond to the situation.
10AM: Police have cordoned off McCormack Ct, Collingwood Park following reports of a siege in progress.
A large number of officers are at the scene.
The incident was first reported about 9.30am, however few other details are available.
