VIDEO: CCTV captures terrifying armed hold-up
UPDATE: CCTV images of a man robbing a Toowoomba service station have been released in the hope someone will recognise the offender.
The images show a man with cloth covering his face jumping the counter at the 7- Eleven service station at the intersection of Perth and Mackenzie Sts about 5.30am today.
Police are appealing to people who may have been exercising in the area at the time to report anything that may have been linked to the offence.

EARLIER: Police are calling for information from anyone who might have witnessed a service station armed robbery this morning.
Toowoomba Criminal Investigation Branch officer-in-charge Paul McCusker said a man armed with a knife and his face covered threatened an attendant at the 7-Eleven at the intersection of Perth and Mackenzie Sts about 5.30am today.
The robber then climbed the counter and removed the cash till draw before fleeing on foot onto Mackenzie St running towards James St.
"Police are seeking any information from persons who may have been out walking or running in the area at this time," Detective Senior Sergeant McCusker said.
"It is possible that the offender may have left the location in a vehicle which may have been parked in an adjacent street."
The offender was described as 180cm tall, of medium build and wearing a long-sleeved shirt, which was maroon in colour on the top half and yellow on the bottom half.
"The garment had yellow half sleeves, which is similar to a Bronco's rugby league team supporter shirt.
"He wore black track pants and shoes."
Anyone with information, especially those who may have seen the man before or after the robbery, can call Toowoomba detectives on 4631 6400 or Crime stoppers on 1800 333 000.
EARLIER: Police are still looking for an armed robber who held up a service station in Rangeville, Toowoomba this morning.
The 7-Eleven at the intersection of Mackenzie and Perth Sts was held-up about 5.30am.
The Chronicle understands the man was armed with a knife.
Police are using a dog squad to try and locate the offender.
The man, described as having a solid build, was last seen wearing black tracksuit pants, a maroon jumper and a dark blue or black cap.
If anyone has seen the man they are advised to call 000 and not approach him.
It is the second armed hold-up of a service station in Toowoomba in the past week after Pacific Fuels at Drayton was held up by two men wielding a shotgun.
