Car allegedly stolen in Hervey Bay with toddler inside

HERVEY Bay police are speaking to two men after a car was allegedly stolen with a toddler inside on Friday morning.

Early reports suggest a car window was smashed and someone was dragged alongside as the vehicle was being driven away, outside Kidzone Play Centre in Pialba.

Police and ambulance officers attended the scene at Islander Rd and a man, believed to be the one dragged by the car, was taken to hospital in the ambulance.

Meanwhile on Torquay Rd in Scarness, a blue Corolla sedan, believed to be the vehicle in question, was intercepted by police.

Two young men were spoken to by the police, who then placed them in the back of one of the patrol cars.

A young child was carried to the police station by a female officer.

No further information is available at this time.
