Police seize ice in Toowoomba raids

POLICE from the Darling Downs District Tactical Crime Squad and Tactical Action Team have been conducting a drug operation in the Toowoomba and Lockyer Valley areas.

Today at 6am police executed a warrant on Christopher St, Grantham where they located 27 grams of a crystalline substance believed to be ice and seized numerous items used in the supply of dangerous drugs as well as just under $8000 in cash.

Yesterday just before midnight police intercepted a vehicle due to its manner of driving in Margaret St, Toowoomba.

Officers searched the vehicle and located approximately six grams of amphetamines as well as a knife and other pharmaceutical drugs believed to have been illegally obtained.

The 30-year-old male driver was charged with driving under the influence of drugs, possession of dangerous drugs and possession of a weapon.

He is due to appear in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court on April 7.

On Thursday around 9pm police attended at a motel in Toowoomba where five people known to the police were located.

A search of the premises located over 12 grams of crystalline drugs believed to be ice and other items used in the sale of dangerous drugs.

All five people three men and two woman aged between 21 - 37 were charged with an array of offences from possession of dangerous drugs to possessing explosives and warrant offences.

Two have been remanded in custody and the others are due to appear in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court in April.

Police said the targeted operations would continue in the Toowoomba and Lockyer Valley areas.
