UPDATE 11:30AM: THE Victorian man charged after police found 12kg of marijuana in a vehicle at the weekend will spend the next three month behind bars.

Kujtim Dardha appeared in Warwick Magistrates Court this morning, charged with supplying and possessing dangerous drugs and possessing anything used in the commission of a crime.

His application for bail was refused.

Police prosecutor Steve de Lissa opposed bail on the grounds of the severity of the offence, and that the 58-year-old was from another state and had no ties to Queensland.

Dardha will remain behind bars until his next court appearance on February 29.

EARLIER: A MAJOR drug bust at the weekend has stopped a crop of marijuana from reaching partygoers attending the Gold Coast's Schoolies festivities.

Warwick police Senior Constable Ian Buckmaster said 12kg of marijuana was discovered in a hidden compartment in a four-wheel-drive vehicle heading towards Brisbane.

The 12kg seizure is one of the biggest recorded in the region, 2kg more than a similar seizure made by Warwick police earlier this year.

"We've put the value at about $100,000," Snr Const Buckmaster said. "We're happy to have taken it off the streets. It was a chance intercept and we believe it was headed for Schoolies."

Snr Const Buckmaster said the demeanour of the driver made the officer suspicious.

"The driver was just extremely nervous so straight away we knew there was something up," he said.

A man was stopped on the Cunningham Hwy by patrolling officers at about 1.15pm on Saturday and charged with a string of drug offences.

It will be alleged that during a subsequent search of the vehicle police officers located sealed packages containing marijuana hidden beneath the floor.

A 58-year-old Victorian man will appear at the Warwick Magistrates Court today.

Two other men have also been charged with a string of drug offences after Toowoomba police searched two properties in Toowoomba and Meringandan on Friday.

Six kilograms of cannabis was allegedly seized from the properties as part of Operation Bravo Resolve.

Police also seized hydroponic equipment they allege was used in the production of cannabis.

A 30-year-old Torrington man was arrested at a Bridge St residence at about 4.30pm and has been charged with a string of drug offences including producing dangerous drugs and possessing dangerous drugs.

He is expected to appear in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court on January 19.

A 42-year-old man was arrested at about 5pm on Friday after police searched a Goombungee Meringandan Rd residence.

He was charged with offences including producing dangerous drugs and supplying dangerous drugs. The Meringandan man is expected to appear in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court on January 12.
