Police unable to locate reported 'sinking boat'

UPDATE 11.45AM: A QUEENSLAND Police spokeswoman has confirmed police were unable to locate a reported overturned boat on the Fitzroy River.

The spokeswoman said police conducted extensive patrols along the riverbank but were unable to find the boat or the person reportedly waving from rocks.

BREAKING 10AM: POLICE are responding to the Fitzroy River following reports a boat has overturned.

Initial reports suggest a man is standing on rocks, waving his arms near the Neville Hewitt Bridge where the boat has overturned.

It is unclear at this stage whether anyone has been injured.
