Police uncover drug lab in house

A MAN has been charged after a clandestine drug laboratory was found at a Rockhampton house on Monday.

Tactical Crime Squad Acting Sergeant Jerome Winslade said the lab was found by police about 2pm.

"Upon receiving information, police secured a warrant to attend the address believed to have had a clandestine lab on the premises," acting Sergeant Winslade said.

 "Utensils and chemicals needed for producing amphetamines were found throughout the house."

The man, who was the occupier of the house, was charged with drug-related offences and will appear in court at a later date.

Police did not disclose the man's age.

Six officers attended the incident.

The Illicit Laboratory Investigation Team finished its forensic investigations about noon yesterday.

The alleged offender was assisting police with further investigations into the matter.
