POLL: Which retailer would you like to see open in Rocky?

FOOD appears to be the theme when it comes to what Rockhampton wants in terms of retailers opening in town.

The Morning Bulletin asked readers via Facebook on Thursday night what retailers they would like to see open in Rockhampton.

With over 150 comments from readers, The Bulletin has concluded that food is a theme, with 51 suggesting the region needs an Aldi outlet and others talking about the needs for more healthy, nutritional fast food outlets.

"A few decent health food stores, and more conscious about others that may be wanting to eat a bit better than the fast food chain," Byron Taylor posted.

"I'd happily go out for a nice fresh vegetarian meal or a nice fresh coffee that's served with freshness and quality. You are what you eat."

Ric Simon asked Byron if he had tried Blue Truffle?

"Yeah it's a nice spot that one," Byron replied. "If we have more shops like that one then we'd not be labelled as Australia's fattest city. Or at least Queensland.

"Too many people are getting the quickest option possible because everything is just too hard."

Mark Di Ruggiero said he would just like to see shops/businesses stay open and not have to close down.

Jaimi-Leigh Harper said she would like to see lower rent prices so that 'anything will open and stay open.'
