Popular performer to play Pilbeam for June Morning Melodies

MUCH-loved international performer John MacNally (pictured) will grace the stage of Rockhampton's Pilbeam Theatre on June 22.

With more than 40 albums to his credit and TV appearances in America, Australia and Canada, as well as his native Ireland, John is well-known the world over and is expected to attract a strong audience when he stars in the June Morning Melodies event.

The concert will feature a selection of John's favourite songs, along with some humorous anecdotes from his many decades on the stage.

There will be songs of romance (Lady in Red, Unchained Melody, La Vie En Rose), inspiration (You Raise Me Up, How Great Thou Art) and songs of Ireland (Mountains of Mourne, Galway Bay, Danny Boy).

Born in Dublin, John is as well-known in Australia as he is in his native Ireland.

For several years he hosted the top-rating Tonight Show for Channel 9 in Sydney and was also a familiar voice on ABC Radio.

After Australia, the USA beckoned and John appeared on most of the country's top-rating TV shows including Johnny Carson, Merv Griffin and Regis Philbin.

Morning Melodies is presented by Rockhampton Regional Council and Bolsover Radiology.

A free morning tea, provided by Brumby's, will be available before the performance which starts at 11am. Tickets are on sale now from the Pilbeam Theatre Box Office, Dial'n'Charge 4927 4111 and online at http://www.seeitlive.com.au.
