Plenty of reasons to vote yes on Fisherman's Beach Boat Ramp
CQBRAG president Clive King said there were plenty of reasons to vote yes for the Fisherman's Beach Boat Ramp proposal.
"The site identified for the proposed boat ramp was proclaimed a Fisherman's Reserve area in 1889 where our forefathers identified it as the site for fishing and boating related activities," he said. "It will be another iconic addition to Emu Park, much better than the Ross Creek boat ramp facility in Yeppoon...tie in seamlessly into the Emu Park Foreshore Development.
"The proposed boat ramp will provide for 50 construction-related jobs during a time when the community needs it most."
Mr King said the Fisherman's Beach Boat Ramp and Coorooman Creek Boat Ramp would generate at least $1.2M in economic revenue per year for the area through recreational fishing tourism.
"It will provide a variety of businesses an opportunity to develop at Emu Park, such as water taxis to GKI, dive operators and fishing charters.
"It will provide a marine habitat and have no adverse environmental issues."
