Potholes are not the only issues from lots of rain this year

THE rain may be easing, but Rockhampton's John Daniels expects to be flat out cleaning up the mouldy mess.

John is the owner of Sadie's Cleaning Services and he said his main job was to remove mould from homes.

"I have been a bit busy, but once the rain goes away I'll get really busy," John said yesterday.

He said he had a special mixture he used that could be guaranteed to keep mould away for six months, however, he was keeping the ingredients close to his chest.

He did, however, provide some tips.

John said vinegar, bi-carb soda, diluted bleach and chlorine-based cleaners were all options.

"90% of people have mould in their house, you'll find there's a leak in the roof or something."

He said people using a chlorine-based cleaner needed to put it on the mould, then wait at least 15 minutes before wiping it off.
