Power cut for repairs

ERGON Energy last night cut power to 2200 customers to replace a high-voltage power pole damaged by fire at Parkhurst yesterday morning.

Corporate Communications manager Bob Pleash said the outage lasted from 11pm to 3am and affected between Alton Downs and Clairview.

Mr Pleash said a bushfire damaged the pole at 10.30am, cutting power for 20 minutes.

Emergency repairs were carried out yesterday morning as a stop gap.
