Power out for almost 2000 in North Rocky

ALMOST 2000 residents lost electricity in North Rockhampton this morning when pole-top equipment malfunctioned.

Power was lost around 8.17am for 1799 customers in the Frenchville and Mt Archer areas.

Ergon Energy investigated after reports from the public and crews found a power pole in Geordie Street, near the Frenchville School, where equipment had malfunctioned.

The majority of customers were back online in just under an hour while 144 customers in the immediate vicinity of the fault were without electricity until 11.30am while the damaged equipment was isolated and repaired.
