Power pole bursts into flames on residential street

A POWER pole burst into flames last night in Mount Morgan, causing concern for residents.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services were called to reports of the incident on Butler St at 12.43am.

One crew attended the scene and saw flames and smoke coming from the pole.

Firefighters had to wait for the power to be turned off from the pole before they were able to extinguish the blaze.

The fire was out by 4.10am.
