Power restored to residents after lightning strike

THE power supply to around 400 Ergon customers in Marlborough, Ogmore, St Lawrence and Clairview was restored at around 4.15 this afternoon.

The power was lost after a power pole was struck by lightning last night.

The top of the pole burnt off at about 5am as a result of the strike.

A chopper patrol identified the damage about 150km north of Rockhampton and crews were put in place to process the replacement of the pole.
