Premier Campbell Newman puts Labor on repeat
FOR all the talk of strong plans and brighter futures, one issue remains front and centre on the Premier's mind, two and a half years after winning the election.
During the Premier's budget estimates performance on Tuesday, Campbell Newman allowed the word "bright" to pass his lips 43 times, while "strong" - the adjective that paves the way for bright - was uttered 56 times.
But "Labor" managed to trump the government's current favourite slogan, with the Premier mentioning it 76 times.
In his third estimates hearing, Mr Newman, in between talking about the government's stellar record, still found room to blame the former government for its "so-called reforms", "$80 billion cloud of debt", the party's "financial incompetence" and the "misleading" information its members sprout.
