Paradise Lagoons campdraft president says thanks

SPONSORS and volunteers were invited to celebrate another successful Paradise Lagoons Campdraft at the event's home.

About 100 people attended a sponsor function on Friday evening to toast success with the committee.

Committee president Graeme Acton said it was important to acknowledge those who had helped with Paradise Lagoons.

"It's just a way for our committee to say thank you to our sponsors and volunteers," he said.

"We very much appreciated the large number of volunteers, which is growing by the year as the event becomes more successful and high-profile.

Mr Acton said it was wonderful the community and sponsors supported such a large and important event as the Paradise Lagoons Campdraft.

"We really appreciate them," Mr Acton said. "Of course, we had quite a few new ones (sponsors) this year and that was really good.

Mr Acton also presented donations to a number of local organisations. He thanked The Cathedral College for taking on the ever-increasing task of managing the parking and The Caves Lions Club for cleaning up after the event was over.

"It's very important that we have the support of those service clubs and that we recognise them for their contributions.

"We thank everyone for their support; it makes the event successful," Mr Acton said.
