Principal ‘made’ secretary take X-rated pics
A principal forced her secretary to take photos of herself posing in a G-string on school property - and then had the secretary store the snaps on her mobile to send to her lover, a federal lawsuit alleges.
New York school principal, Evelina Medina, allegedly "instructed" staffer Gisselle Vasquez to take nearly-nude photos of her in her magnet school office, The Sun reports.
Vasquez was allegedly ordered to save the raunchy snaps to her own phone and store Ms Medina's lover's photos as well - one of which included a photo of the unidentified man's penis.
Federal court documents allege Ms Vasquez, 35, a Spanish-speaking secretary at the 800-seat magnet school in Yonkers, was sent a photo of a man in his underwear lying in bed by Ms Medina on May 24, 2018.
Ms Medina then asked Ms Vasquez to store the photo on her own mobile phone, which confused Ms Vasquez who explained the two were not friends.
"To this day I don't understand what would make her so comfortable to ask me to do that for her," Ms Vasquez told the NY Post.
"I wondered if I don't do this what would be the repercussions for me at work. I'm a single parent and I thought what would happen if I said no," she continued.
Documents detail more antics that Ms Vasquez was alleged to have endured.
On May 25, 2018, just a day after Ms Medina sent Ms Vasquez that photo, Ms Medina ordered the single mum to take a photo of her.
"She hands me the phone and says, 'Close the door,'" Ms Vasquez told the Post.
"Medina then proceeded to lower her pants to her ankles, turned around and exposed her buttocks in thong underwear and posed," court papers read.
"When I looked back her pants were already down," Ms Vasquez told the publication. "I was shocked. I didn't know what to think. I really just froze."
"I worried that if I just left her office there could be a student or employee or anyone there. Her office is in the main office and there is a lot of traffic," she said.
Ms Medina didn't stop there - she allegedly texted Ms Vasquez the photos and asked if the she could "edit" them, the complaint read.
Ms Vasquez explained to the Post: "She wanted to smooth out the dimples … her cellulite."
On May 29, Ms Medina sent Ms Vasquez yet another photo, of a man in bed holding his erect penis. Once again, Ms Medina told Ms Vasquez to save those photos as well.
"On more than one occasion, Medina made comments about her lover's penis size and how it satisfied her more despite being smaller than her husband's penis size," read the court documents.
"Medina used my client as her own personal drop-box to keep the sexy pictures away from her [Medina's] husband," said lawyer Christopher Berlingieri.
"Due to the serious nature of the sexual harassment here, we felt that there was no other option but to bring a civil action."
The lawsuit alleges that Ms Medina would often "instruct" Ms Vasquez to read her sizzling sexts sent between her and her lover.
"I don't know why she wanted me to read it. Maybe she didn't have friends or family to confide in?" Ms Vasquez told the Post.
"I don't know why she thought it was OK. Maybe because she thought I was just her secretary and I wasn't going to say or do anything."
Ms Medina at one point had Ms Vasquez book a hotel room with Ms Vasquez's credit card to have a rendezvous with her lover, the document read.
The principal even invited Ms Vasquez and an assistant principal at the school to a happy hour where Ms Medina's lover and his brother showed up - and even told Ms Vasquez to go out with the brother.
Ms Vasquez "felt uncomfortable during this encounter and ultimately told Ms Medina that she had to leave," said the documents.
When Ms Vasquez brought up these issues and more with a supervisor, the supervisor put in a request for transfer instead of setting up a meeting.
As HR ignored Ms Vasquez's request and never got back to her, Ms Medina continued to make even more outrageous requests of Ms Vasquez, asking her to purchase lingerie for her during lunch because she had a date in the city that night.
At one point, Ms Medina would show off her sex moves, "forcefully grabbed [Vasquez] by the neck and throat to show her what she wanted to do with her lover," read the complaint.
This cycle of abuse continued with other personnel at the school, with some assistant principals asking Ms Vasquez if she ever did drugs or has sex frequently, and with Ms Medina even insinuating Ms Vasquez should "give him some" to a male superior.
On March 29, 2019, assistant principal Christopher "Cassano leaned in and attempted to kiss [Vasquez] on the lips in the back of the main office while plaintiff was washing a plate," read the suit.
When Ms Vasquez asked Mr Cassano what he was doing, "he said, 'I shouldn't have done that,'" Ms Vasquez told the Post.
Ms Medina, who once made $US163,000 ($A210,000) a year while principal at the school, no longer works at the highly rated institution.
The school board has not yet commented on the lawsuit.
