Principal treated after fire

SARINA Primary School’s acting principal was treated for smoke inhalation this morning after a fire broke out in a teaching block.

Firefighters were called to the school, 300km north of Rockhampton, at 8.30am.

An Education Queensland spokesman said the school’s 500 students were evacuated as they arrived at the school.

He said minimal damage was caused to I Block.

A Queensland Fire and Rescue spokesperson said the cause of the fire was unknown.
