Proposed Kershaw Gardens plans revealed

FOR months, Kershaw Gardens has been fenced off following destruction from Cyclone Marcia.

But today, Rockhampton residents will get their first look at the plans which could shape the park's future.

Rockhampton Regional Council will today open the park's master plan for four weeks community consultation.

While the space is still open to change, Rockhampton Regional Mayor Margaret Strelow said she was "very excited" by the plans designed by consulting firm Urbis.

Inspired by parks in other capital cities, the space is set to include open parklands, a maze set within the existing sensory gardens, water play spaces for families, shaded picnic areas, a larger dog agility and off-leash area and a synthetic running track.
