Trail debate runs off rails online

THE proposed Yeppoon to Rockhampton Rail Trail was a hotly debated topic on The Morning Bulletin's website yesterday.

The paper yesterday carried a story about where the project was at with Member for Keppel Paul Hoolihan having secured $1.1 million from the state budget to fund the first stage which is expected to be completed this year.

The first stage of the trail - which will essentially be a walking/bicycle track including water crossings - will run from Braithwaite St in Yeppoon to the Yeppoon Golf Course.

Some of the debate centred around whether funding would be better spent on developing the Yeppoon foreshore.
