Crews leave the scene of Somerset Rd fire

UPDATE 6pm: A SPOKESPERSON from the QFES confirmed the fire had been extinguished at around 4pm on Somerset Rd.

They said the blaze occurred within scrap metal next to the service station.

BREAKING 4pm: THE QUEENSLAND Fire and Emergency Services are on the scene of a small fire beside the Caltex Service Station on Somerset Rd, Gracemere.

Reports suggest the fire was started by sparks from a welding torch.

It is believed it is under control after foam was used by the QFES.
