Queensland Bulls have a lot of work to do for shield
MARK Steketee and the Queensland Bulls need two top days of batting and bowling if they are going to take any points from the Sheffield Shield cricket game against Tasmania in Hobart.
In a game where the batting has been slow in stark contrast to the Australian batting in the Test match in Brisbane, the Bulls were 2-117 at stumps on day 2 chasing 8-433.
Steketee bowled the first over of the innings and dismissed two top order batsman to finish with 2-83 off 30 overs while fellow paceman Peter George was the best of the Bulls bowlers with 3-82 off 30.3 overs.
In the Queensland innings, debutant Sam Heazlett is 69 not out.
The Bulls went into the game without Test pair Joe Burns and Usman Khawaja who both scored hundreds in the Test in Brisbane and going on their current form won't be playing any Shield cricket during the Test cricket program.
