Quick home sale signals promise
SOLD in 10 minutes!
This property on The Range was snapped up at auction for $560,000 in about 10 minutes early last month.
Selling agent from Pat O’Driscoll Real Estate, Penny Keating, said she had received a lot of interest in the Caroline St home on top of the hill, with a close call between two active bidders in the final few minutes.
“If I had 20 of these homes I could sell them like that. It’s a spacious gable home with lots of potential,” she said.
The home, which has an in-ground pool and overlooks the city, sits on a large 1432sq m block and was sold to a young Rockhampton family.
Ms Keating said confidence was starting to return to Rockhampton’s property market with the four top-selling suburbs being The Range, Wandal, Norman Gardens and Frenchville.
Another recent sale was a property on Corberry St on The Range, which passed in at auction and had three offers within a week later.
The home sold for $340,000.
“There is a real demand for quality product on The Range and people buying in this area will pay the price,” Ms Keating said.
An RP Data property snapshot of the four top-selling suburbs revealed a $5000 hike in the median sale price in February for homes at The Range from $390,000 in January.
Frenchville’s median jumped from $328,000 to $348,400, while in the suburbs of Wandal and Norman Gardens prices dropped by close to $100,000.
