QUT racism case leads to bankruptcy action for Cindy Prior

TOP silk Tony Morris QC was in the Federal Circuit in Brisbane on Wednesday in his bid to bankrupt a university staffer who ran an unsuccessful racial smear lawsuit against three students.

The case was dismissed by Justice John Dowsett in November and he later ordered Ms Prior pay the students' legal costs.

Morris told Registrar Scott Tredwell that he had failed to serve Cindy Prior with a creditors petition for $10,780 in court costs Prior owes former students Jackson Powell and Callum Thwaites because he couldn't find her.

"Attempts at service have been unsuccessful," Morris told the court.

"I'm seeking orders for substituted service."
