RACQ rescue helicopter evacuates three people from Lowmead

THE RACQ Capricorn Helicopter Rescue Service (Rescue 300) was tasked by Queensland Health to evacuate three peole isolated in the Lowmead area at around 12pm on Monday, January 28.

The three people had been isolated since Friday.

One of the evacuees house was totally inundated to the roof with water.

The evacuees, two men and one woman had run out of diesel for their generator and were running critically low on food and fresh water.

The trio were hoisted to the aircraft and airlifted to Gladstone, where they will seek shelter with friends until the flood waters subside.
