Rain keeping video store busy

RECENT rain is keeping Rockhampton video store manager Sam Judd busy.

Rentals at The Video Store, in Frenchville, have increased in line with the downpours as people stay indoors.

However, it appears there just haven't been enough rainy days in Rockhampton in recent times with Sam saying the store was likely to close within the next couple of months.

"Rain for the rest of the week is definitely a positive," Sam said yesterday.

The local store has been operating for 10 months.

"We are looking at closing down mainly because we want to try something new," Sam said.

"We are most likely going to be closing down within the next month or two."

She said there were a number of big players in the movie rental market, including online, which was becoming an increasingly strong presence.
