Rain won't spoil our Christmas

DUST off the cricket bat and give the pool a good clean.

There should be no raining on Christmas Day's parade this year, with a mostly fine day forecast for Rockhampton.

Rockhampton's Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Mike Marrinan said the day was shaping up to be a sunny one.

"It's looking reasonable," he said yesterday.

"Generally speaking it should be a fine Christmas inland."

He said the coast could expect some possible showers but these would be mostly isolated.

"Nothing's going to spoil anyone's day," he said.

Mr Marrinan said temperatures in the region would be close to average or slightly above.

"Inland areas in the Central Highlands may be slightly higher," he said.

People are reminded to slip, slop and slap in preparation for the day's high UV index and to keep hydrated.

Christmas Eve and Boxing Day are also predicted to be mostly fine so everyone can put their worries to rest and gear up for a true Aussie Christmas.
