Raising a smile and funds for sick kids

LAST Friday was Bandanna Day, supporting CanTeen, children and youth with cancer.

The Parkhurst State School Student Council sold bandannas over the last week to raise money for this fantastic national charity.

Pictured, from left to right, are student councillors Jed Gadsby, Caitlin Jones, Kelly Whitfield and Tahlia Swanson, preparing for the event.

About $300 has been raised through the sale of bandannas, at the same time promoting compassion, the school’s virtue of the fortnight.

This year the student council has supported a local, state-wide, national and international charity, reinforcing that individuals can make a difference.
