STOCKLAND Rockhampton has announced they have locked in popular restaurant Max Brenner Chocolate Bar to take up tenancy in The Terrace alfresco dining precinct in the New Year.

Boasting a menu oozing with chocolatey goodness, Max Brenner is renowned as a restaurant where you can indulge in decadent pastries, creamy fondues and thick milkshakes.

Stockland Rocky have also announced award winning gelato brand Gelatissimo, popular Mexican restaurant Guzman y Gomez and self-proclaimed 'best burgers in town' brand Burger Urge will also take up tenancies in the new $6.6 million, 250-seat casual dining development.

The new precinct is being designed to bring together a tantalising range of international foods and flavours, offering customers a new place to meet, eat and socialise with family and friends.

Stockland Centre Manager, Nathanial Barbagallo was thrilled to announce the four big brand restaurants of the six allocated restaurants.   Read the full story here: Max Brenner and Guzman y Gomez among new Stockland eateries

The Bulletin posted the news on Facebook last night with over 300 comments, 500 shares and over 43,000 views of the post in 14 hours.

Many people were excited about the news and there were a few that thought Rockhampton has enough food outlets.

Here are some of the comments:

Ben Dickenson - Outdoor eating in Rocky on the north west side of the building. I bet that will be a hit in summer.
Robyn Gaffel - Yeah, I'm not a local but visit a lot. Although there is a sweet spot of light and cool at this time of year.
Frances Pujolas - love guzman y gomez yay
Lesley Goltz - How disappointing - we don't really need anymore food shops.
Tegan Churchill - They're opening the alfresco dining down the sizzlers side, of course there is going to be more food places.
Liz O'Dowd - Umm that's why it was built in the first place and it is needed. Lunch time at Stockland is hard to get a seat.
Shaunna-lee Mahajan - Might bring business to that side of the shop too
Dee Patterson - This is the best news ever! Finally a nice outdoor eating place!!
Rhelda Thorogood - We need different outlets and Max Brenner is a winner..
Cyn Dell - This has been on the cards for a while, hence all the stores being closed/moved from that area
Nichola May - OMG ONG OMG OMG OMG OMG Ben Spry !!!! I'm taking you on a date the second this place opens! It's amazing
