Here are some of the comments:
Anja Zemlicoff - If a male student wants to wear a skirt to school, he shouldn't have to seek approval to do so. It's all the "no they shouldn't be allowed to, there's enough bullying already" that's wrong with the world.
Edward Skahill - Seriously is this important. Half of kids don't get feed or looked after properly and we worry about this! I don't care either way, but to waste effort on this is pretty sad. Surely, she would be better spending her time making sure kids are educated properly and safe both at school and at home.
George Coe - Go home political correctness, you're drunk...
Aarti Vasoya - Why not offer the choice - not that any boys would really do it, imagine the crap they'd go through with their friends.
Peter Draper - Seriously??? Kids have such poor literacy and numeracy skills, Have no idea of history, many have have poor diets leading to obesity and future diabetes, how many eat a decent breakfast. This suggestion should be so far down the list of priorities when compared to the important things as to be almost irrelevant.
Ryan Mathew Newport - Sure, why not
Sean Trewartha - There called kilts in Scotland, and they're not worn to school either. However many men in Asia wear sorongs...
Christie Brown - each to there own I say if a boy wants to wear a skirt let him
Sharron Payne - Don't get me wrong I'm not anti gay. If boys want to wear their hair in pig tails I don't care. Most kids wear shorts to school anyway. This would lead to more bullying. Shorts have always been worn by both girls and boys so its not like they are gender specific.
Valarie Hawkins - I am so sick and tired of this NON GENDER crap that is being pushed on us !!! if your a boy act like a boy , if you are a girl act like a girl its simple .... Girls wear girl clothes and boys wear boy clothes ...I love that I am a woman and celebrate it
Zara-Lee Goodson - As there is at least 3 transgender children going to schools in the greater Rockhampton area, you thinking its not reverent shows how out of touch you are with life for some kids are these days
and those who think the days of boy blue girl pink have been around forever your so wrong its only been 90 years of it the health benefits of boys wearing skirts have been looked at and would be approved pretty quickly better for their genitalia growth etc but honestly not many boys would wear a dress or skirt to school more then once, due to gender roles and clothing restrictions society force upon us just like those closed minded people who have commented above
