YOUR SAY: Readers comment on City Slider flop

THE Morning Bulletin readers had mixed emotions after the highly anticipated Albert St City Slider event had to be cancelled due to safety concerns yesterday morning.

Both disgruntled and understanding readers shared their thoughts on the Bulletin's social media and online platforms. Here's what they had to say.

Lyndon Andrews: I was there for the morning session. It was anchored down but it would be really hard to keep down if there was a side wind. The poor buggers spent all night setting up and how have to do it again.

We had an awesome time this morning though.

Jody Bayntun: It's amazing how one thing goes wrong and all the critics come out of their little holes. Wake up, this was not something they could predict.

Karen Bryant: A big gust of wind came out of nowhere? What? It's been gusting all bleeding night!!!

Bob Pacey: Not really good enough is it ? Blame the poor old weather forecasters.

Frances Simmonds: Such a shame for those that missed out. My boys did it this morning and had a ball, the company was very good too and yes it was all tied down. You can't help Mother Nature would do it again in a heartbeat.

Tamara Spilsbury: Wow, that could have been really dangerous if there were people on it at the time.

Cherith Weis: It's blowing a gale in Gracemere today. Someone said there's a H off the coast.

Nathan Emerson: The most annoying (and quite inconsiderate) was the loud music coming from there at 0630. I live right next to it and it was ridiculous. Other than that I feel sorry for all the families who were disappointed. Mother Nature truly is unpredictable

Dane Devize Heslin: Long gone are the days of the ol tarp & detergent in the backyard, now sheople are lining up & paying for fun, SMH.

Jo Banks: Wow thought that would have been part of the safety check???
