READERS DISCUSS: House trashed by revellers on Halloween

REVELLERS inflicted an estimated $50,000 worth of damage within three hours to a rental property. Read full story here: Teen Halloween party leaves thousands of dollars damage

The Bulletin asked on Facebook: What do you think the punishment should be for culprits?

Jill Harbeck - Take their mobile phones off them and other possessions, sell them and then give the money to the owner of the house. Also they must help in the cleanup (we all know a teenager cannot live without their phone)

Sonya Raye Hooper - Bring them all to the property, make them clean it up. All efforts should be made to have those responsible compensate the owner of the house. Parents of these children should be called in also to ask why?

Russell Daniels - These teens are only minors, and therefore not responsible or accountable for anything they do, and will be let off by any court with a caution - nothing too harsh mind. The home owner will be picking up the tab for the repairs and clean up which is probably not covered by his Landlord Insurance, the parents won't be there helping with the clean up because they probably don't give a toss either.

Lisa Verney - The neighbour called police, they came and shut down the party... Were any of the little darlings questioned...

James N Nicole Huxley - Either them or their parents need to clean this up and pay for damages. Its hard enough for people to get approved for rentals who have kids or pets without these selfish brats

Adam Gee - Public name and shame, criminal record and community service time spent fixing the damage under the supervision of contractors, paid for by the parents.

Natalie Shae - Community service and a mark against their name. Absolutely disgusting they think its okay to cause so much damage. But being young teens, a slap on the wrist will be all they get.
