VIDEO: Ready, set, go – 2300 stride into River Run

A PERFECT day greeted the field of 2300 entrants who lined up for the annual Rocky River Run yesterday.

Runners of all ages took part in the popular annual event, which featured a half-marathon, as well as races over 10km, 5km and 2km.

Chris Pollock won the men's half-marathon, while Anna McMurtrie took the honours in the women's section.

While numbers were down slightly on last year, Rocky River Run chairman Nicole Dyer said all the competitors were enthusiastic and had a great day.

"The event would not be possible without the amazing support from our sponsors and the community, and all the volunteer hours from the members of the Rotary Club of Rockhampton."

Funds raised go towards youth suicide prevention in Central Queensland.
