Reeves opens Cooee Bay courts

CONSTRUCTION is set to start soon on a $535,728 five-court international netball and tennis court complex in Yeppoon.

Phil Reeves, Minister for Sport, will join Mayor of Rockhampton Regional Council, Brad Carter, and Member for Keppel, Paul Hoolihan, at an official launch and turning of the sod next Tuesday at the Cooee Bay Progress and Sports Association.

Association president Brian Dorey said the multipurpose netball and tennis courts would have the highest quality of playing surface and court dimensions in Central Queensland and will meet international performance standards.

Mr Dorey said it was the biggest single project of the association since it first developed the sports ground in 1975.

Completion of the project has been sent for June 1, 2010.
