Renee is familiar with what flood levees are for

RENEE Dobbs knows the personal financial hurt a flood can bring.

The 20-year-old on Wednesday said she lost a brand-new washing machine and plenty of other stuff when her old home at Mt Morgan flooded last year.

Since then she has moved to a house in Depot Hill.

She thinks holding off on the proposed South Rockhampton levee is a wise move for the time being.

Renee said a levee would cost a lot of money and the case needed to be fully explained.

"People are talking a lot about this in the area," Renee said.

"I reckon a levee would do a good job, but it feels like everything has been rushed and a lot of people don't fully understand it."
